I am considering upgrading my current Samsung 204T to a new Widescreen and have a concern: I noticed that the 20" Widescreen and the 22" widescreen both run at 1680X1050 resolution. Will it be noticeably clearer at 20" then it is at 22" considering they both have the same resolution? I would prefer the 22" monitor but really don't want it to appear less detailed or risk seeing the screen door effect a lot.

Any advice?

Sure but is the image as clear at 22 as it is at 20 inch? They both have the exact same resolution so the image is being stretched further on the 22inch. I've tried looking in stores at their displays but ofcourse most are running videos so you can't really see the computer display.

I just bought a 2232bw and it is VERY clear so there shouldn't be a problem. The 22" probably has a higher dot pitch. I am very disappointed with it though because the back light is weaker at the top then at the bottom (top is darker than bottom) so i'm taking it back.

oops, didnt see this while i was writing. u will not notice any screen door effect, i actually had to search to see what you meant. lol screen door effect prolly concerns more of the lcd tvs and what not. i actually upgraded from 20 to 22.in my opinion i like 22 better, txt is easier to read.

i have the dell sp2208wfp: http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/dell-sp2208wfp/4505-3174_7-32909878.html?tag=img

really nice!

i got the same moniter as you

REAL nice moniter, 2ms response time is handy and the HDMI is sick
i can put my PS3 to it, although not Full HD (1080p) i dont watch blu ray movies and like only 1 game on PS3 goes to 1080p so 720p is fine for me

Your replacement will do that same thing; TN FTL.

That's funny cause that's the exact monitor I was considering....I guess if I get it I'll get it some place where I can return it if I have the problem.

It's not a problem... That's just how they are. Viewing angles are terrible with TN panels.

Ahh ok...I'm not too concerned about viewing angles since I only care when I'm sitting in front of it....but I will definitely watch for that when I test them out. Thanks

Yep, that's what i am worried about. However, this is nothing to do with viewing angles because no matter which way i look at it the top is always darker than the bottom (start bars and that kinda stuff). I'll get a refund today i think because they xbox also looks rubbish on it haha. It runs on 1080p which looks the best but it cuts a fairly large portion of the screen off so i can't stand that.
