2008 best game that no-one played

No, not World of Goo, but

Penumbra - Black Plague. This was the best game of 2008 for me. The atmosphere and sound are amazing. The fact that you have no weapons at all makes it the scariest game ever made (yes, even scarier than System Shock 2 and STALKER.) I wish there were more games like this.

This is how modern adventure games should be made. I love point-n-click and all (Monkey Island ftw!)... but it's a pretty outdated gameplay method. We should support games like this if we ever wanna see innovation again.

I haven't played Requiem, but judging from what I've heard, I'm not gonna bother with it.

It started of as a small freeware game/tech demo, called just Penumbra. They got so much positive response that they decided to make it to a full game, Penumbra: Overture and the sequel Penumbra: Black Plague followed after that.
