I don't think I've played too many games since Q4 07. I didn't really enjoy The Witcher (at all). If Crysis came out in Q4, I guess I'd have to say that.
EDIT: Well, I guess I could say Grand Theft Auto 4. It definitely isn't a 10/10 in my book, but it's a pretty decent game.
I guess CoD 4 came out a bit before Q4, but I'm loving the multiplayer. Gives me a quick adrenaline fix.
I played Sins of a Solar Empire, but couldn't really get into it, not that it's a bad game, sci-fi is not my thing I guess.
I'm excited for some future games coming up though: I'm in the early access for Age of Conan and basically all the games fireandcloud mentioned, total war:empires, half life: episode 3 (maybe), WAR, fallout 3, also curious to see how huxley will turn out.
Well looking at the PC only (This is the PC forums after all...) The great part didn't start yet in 2008. It's going to start in 2 weeks from now. The games will start to flow in faster then beer in an Irish bar! So many good games, I'll need to make sure I will be able to afford and play them all!
Well its been fantastic for me because I got my new computer in January and I was able to play all the games that I missed over the past couple of years. biggest_loser
I feel you on that one, I was in the same boat. It so nice having a computer now where I don't even have to check the system requirements or their recommended, thank you newegg :)
Just finished Assassin's Creed(not what i expected, but fun nontheless), and while waiting for Mass Effect i'm re-palying some older games.
This year's been pretty dry so far. Sins was magnificent, but that's about it for me. Gonna get Sam and Max Season 2 as soon as Paypal gets its act together.
Very dry on the whole, though. In fact, the drought is so severe, I recently picked up a couple consoles to lighten the load. I won't say which because it would seriously harm my reputation and bring either my gender, sexuality or both into question.
But one thing's certain, it definitely wasn't a Wii and a DS.
Definitely wasn't.
Havn't really been too impressed this year except for GTA:IV which is actually a hell of a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Best sandbox game ever, hope it comes to the PC, have enjoyed the series much more off consoles. Haven't tried Sins of a Solar Empire yet, looks and sounds fantastic, but I don't really feel like investing the time into an RTS right now especially not one that seems so epic in scale. Still have my fingers crossed that AoC will be something special, itching so bad for a new MMO, guess I'll see tomorrow when the early access starts.
As far as later this year, Project Origin is looking good. I've had my eye on Left4Dead since it was announced and it keeps looking better. Starcraft 2 if it comes out this year, but I'm not holding my breathe. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning may very well be a WoW contender (don't think there ever will be a WoW killer) or at least a great DAoC tribute. The World in Conflict expansion should be a good play. Think the new Tomb Raider will be coming some time this year, had fun with Legend and Anniversary so maybe the next one will be alright. Alone in the Dark looks fairly promising, as does Far Cry 2. All in all it should be a good year for gaming, but I don't think it's going to get near 2007 in terms of quality and I'd probably die of a gaming overdose if it did.
