Ok, so im in the market for a nice widescreen monitor, I have one question though, I currently have a 17" LCD, its native res is 1280x1024, if I dont play games in that resolution it looks like crap (blurry etc), so I was wondering, if I get say a 22" LCD widescreen monitor, is it going to be the same way if I dont play in 1680x1050? The reason im asking is currently I dont have a card that is capable of playing most newer games in such high res, running it at 1280x720 would be great, I just dont want the blurryness/fuzzyness I get with my current LCD when not running in its native res.

Yes it'll be that way regardless of what LCD you have, just use the money you would spend on a 22" and get a video card that can play games well @ 1280x1024.

Medium-High? What games do you play? Have you tried updating drivers?

If you don't have the card for it, you shouldn't buy a big monitor mate. Even if the native resolution thing weren't present, you'd still be looking at a much larger monitor displaying the same resolution as your current one, which just looks bad unless you stand far back.

Either play in windows mode, or you will need to bare with the up-scaled res.
