Change the Sony DVD burner to a LiteOn

The video card is very good, but investing in a HD6950 (which can be flashed to a 6970) is a better option.

Shipping from Holland to Iraq could be done through FedEx. Or contact Vivet Gosselin international movers in Antwerp, belgium.

You should really be considering buying a Sandy Bridge processor and compatible motherboard if you're upgrading this month (they are released on the 9th). They are more powerful, more efficient and will likely overclock to a much higher speed than the current i7s.

As for the GPU, the 5970 is an extremely powerful card but you might be better set for the future if you buy a card/or cards from the newest generation. I expect you can also get better performance for your money since SLI and Crossfire now scale so well (particularly at 1080p and above).

NP, i'm building myself in about 2 weeks and am considering a Sandy Bridge and 570 GTX SLI setup.

OP, here's a great set of benchmarks for most of the high end cards on high end games;

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-570-sli-review/11

Your 5970 is shown here, as well as Liam's 580GTX and various SLI/Crossfire solutions. It might be a good idea to have a good read through the article to get a flavour of the difference GPU setups available and their relative performance.

I haven't seen much of the motherboards because they're not available on the online shops I've looked at, may have to wait till the 9th for some more info!

As for the performance compared to an i7-950, I haven't read the reviews fully enough to give you a definite decision and wouldn't want to give any false information. I think your best bet will be the i7-2500k or i7-2600k (the k means that there is no restriction on overclocking), which will probably launch at around $220 and $320 respectively. I'm sure some people here can give more info!

p.s. Also read the reviews if you have time :)

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sandy-bridge-core-i7-2600k-core-i5-2500k,2833-12.html

p.s. I have to leave the comp atm, will check back tomorrow, GL!

Excelent build.

off topic: why did amd even bother releasing the 6970 if u can just take a 6950 and flash the bio's on it seems silly to me.

For the graphics card get the EVGA GTX 580 instead, or get 2x EVGA GTX 570's. Also Corsair Dominator RAM is at a great price now.

ThaT-Masta

for the price you can't go wrong with that ram.
