24hr Grind

well I posted this a while back. My friend is going to play Half Life 2+episodes for at least 24hrs straight. He starts at 6:00 Central American Time. I'm finally allowed to post the link on forums.. He may not be live yet but here is the Link. tune in on Friday or Saturday and watch him go delusional.

Why at least 24 hours? All three can be finished in around 20-21 hours first time round, and I'm assuming he knows what he's doing.

Anyway, as neat as this is, I don't see the point. People who don't own the game (if there is such a person!) would be spoiling it for themselves massively by watching anything more than random snippets of gameplay, and people who do own the game would surely get nothing at all out of watching something like that.

I mean, I know it's fun to do junk like this, but it seems weirdly egotistical as well as pointless to me for a person to assume that others would be interested in it.

Be great to see someone like Yahtzee from Zero Punctiation do this... His snide comments would be brilliant.sSubZerOo

Heh, yeah, that actually would be pretty fun to watch. If it was broken up into a bunch of hour-long or so videos at some place like Gametrailers, I'd probably watch all of it a little at a time.

umh, playing 24 straight, isn't great achievement. Or goal is to finish HL? ( That doesn't seem something special either)

Well He goes live in about 30 minutes and he plays at 6:00 everyone tune in and show some support. I've been to lans and played 10hrs straight but never 24.. its gonna be tuff. So join in the chat and video chat come hang out with us as he plays Half Life 2...

Well here's last night recap. He made it to 12hrs 30min when he involuntarally pased out.

he had 2000 different views total. 80 at any given time

on facepunch forums he had a 2000 post forum topic and a chat room dedicated solly to this.

Wow, thats a pretty pathetic effort. I mean, what about people who work as phone support officers or computer programmers who work 8-10 hours everyday in front of a computer and this guy can't even last 12 and a half hours plus breaks without involuntarally passing out?

no he was up since 6 that morning to so technically he was up for 25 hours..

I didn't think he would fail...

It's really not that hard.. Ive stayed up for about 50 hours or so at a lan once without that many energy drinks : \
