Im going to buy a new graphics card, either a 8800GTS 640MB or a 2900XT. my resolution is 1600x1200.

The rest of my specs are:

GA k8NXP SLI

AMx2 3800+

2GB RAM

Creative audigy 4

430 watt power supply

430W? If it has 33A on the 12V rail and 2 PCI-E 6-pin connectors,it can easily power a HD 2900XT no problem,however the HD 2900Pro has much better price/performance than both the cards you asked about.

Well, Thermaltake.. so you have that crappy TR2 430W model with a single 12V+ rail with 18 amps. :(

I'd go with the HD2900XT and a decent power supply.

cool dude i live in australia too, sadly there are no 2900pros here, as for the psu, id say silver stone strider 600W, absoutely stunning quality i love it and i got it for 170 AU bucks

yeah, i went with the intention of buying a 2900XT but ended up with a full system overhaul -

2900XT, Q6600, 2GB ram, Asus PK5 and a coolmaster 600 watt PSU

It should last me for a while.
