Hi, I have currently 2 GB 800mhz RAM installed on my comp. I want to make it a little bit faster, so will adding 1 GB extra 667mhz of RAM make a difference? I'm asking this since the speed of the RAM will go to 677mhz instead of 800mhz. So is it better to have MORE ram, or LESS ram with a faster speed? Thanks.

Nope, it will slow all your ram down to 667mhz, and if your using dual-channel now.....it won't be running in dual-channel. Cheers

If he added 2x512GB of RAM it would still run dual channel, but he may as well just as 2x1GB its not any more... I found I couldn't get a stable OC with 2x1gb and 2x512mb though... Just get another 2 1GB sticks or replace your current ones with 2gb sticks the same speed. (800mhz)

Don't install slower RAM along side the 800mhz ones. It'll just slow all of them down to the slowest ram (667mhz). Also if you add just one stick, you'll lose the dual-channel mode. Just buy another set of the same RAM you already have and then you'll have 4 Gig at 800mhz running in dual-channel mode. I believe 2gb of DDR2 RAM is about 40-50 bucks. Go get it! Cheers! :)

Exactly like everyone else said. It's much better to have 2 ram sticks running at the same mhz and size in dual channel mode. So if you really want to upgrade you'll have to add to more sticks of 1GB if you have a 4slot computer. But remember dual channel is the best bet also, 800mhz ram is fine right now so you should be fine with 800mhz sticks.
