Hi, I have currently 2 GB 800mhz RAM installed on my comp. I want to make it a little bit faster, so will adding 1 GB extra 667mhz of RAM make a difference? I'm asking this since the speed of the RAM will go to 677mhz instead of 800mhz. So is it better to have MORE ram, or LESS ram with a faster speed? Thanks.crazy-player
Nope, it will slow all your ram down to 667mhz, and if your using dual-channel now.....it won't be running in dual-channel. Cheers

If he added 2x512GB of RAM it would still run dual channel, but he may as well just as 2x1GB its not any more... I found I couldn't get a stable OC with 2x1gb and 2x512mb though... Just get another 2 1GB sticks or replace your current ones with 2gb sticks the same speed. (800mhz)Hi, I have currently 2 GB 800mhz RAM installed on my comp. It's much better to have 2 ram sticks running at the same mhz and size in dual channel mode. So if you really want to upgrade you'll have to add to more sticks of 1GB if you have a 4slot computer. But remember dual channel is the best bet also, 800mhz ram is fine right now so you should be fine with 800mhz sticks.
