I have a HD 3870 now. I was thinking of either getting another one and crossfiring them. Or maybe getting rid of the card I have and just getting the X2 model. Which way would give me better speed and performance?

Yeah, I thought that might be the case. I'm just trying to figure out how to get the most out of the machine.
I see that you are running a 64bit version of Vista. I have the 64bit version of Vista on one of my partitions. Do you notice any difference in games (either Gears of War or Crysis or whatever) when you use DirectX 10? I've run both those games and have noticed NO difference in graphic quality between DirectX 9 and 10.

A 3870 costs $160 now, you save more by Crossfiring instead.

Where did you see it for $160? I've been looking and still seems to be over $200.

Just do crossfire with a 3400, that would be the best bang for buck imo.

LOL You do realize you can Crossfire that with a 3870X2 (that means 3 GPU's) and the performance increase will warrent the buy.

Lol you cant crossfire a 3870 and a 3400. you can only crossfire a 3400 with a 3200 (and 3200's are onboard graphics)

Imagination is noot reality yet at least and sure those hd3870s are very cheap not sure about the 160$ one but they are cheap and yes you should just get another 3870 and add to your own cause a 3870x2 is like 450 or some where around there.

Getting a HD3870 X2 would give you the best performance but if you don't want to spend much then get a 3870 they're cheaper now

On Newegg I couldn't find a 3870 for less than $170 before rebates ($165 AR). I think that the 3850/3870 lineup is getting some price cuts soon, so you may want to wait just a little bit longer.
