I mostly like these games:

1- resident evil, the best with horor and puzzles (too bad there wasn't so much in RE4)

2- alone in the dark (eagerly waiting for 2007's pc version)

3- dino crises (too bad there isn't a recent pc version, or is there?)

4- silent hill (too much fection, I didn't like it)

anyone knows other recent game like these for PC? specially like RE?

Have you played Cold Fear? It's a lot like RE4 (behind the back camera, control system), but the save point system seriously sucks...

Another, although by today standards lacking in graphics, good game is The Thing. It continues where the movie left off and it's kinda cool.

BTW, why you didn't like Silent Hill? It's IMO better than Resident Evil, especialy 2 & 3 (4: The Room is waste of time).

I'll give cold fear a try, thanx for the suggestion! :)

both in RE and SH you start the game in the streat knowing nothing of what's going on, in RE you start getting answers as you play, that when you finish the game you'll know all the story, all what happened.

SH is in the contrary, as you play, you get nothing but more and more questions, when the game finishes you feel like: "ok, so what's the point? what exactly happened here?"

that's one point, the other is, that RE offers some drama, you feel yourself in the character's shoe, unlike SH where all the characters are just a bunch of weirdos!

The Thing is definitely something you should try.

It's a matter of trust, and that any one of your teammates could be the Thing. Trust them too much, you might find yourself prey, trust them not enough, you might end up being the next bullet-filled corpse. It's a real thriller.
