Tomshardware released an article on some of the specs of the 4800 series cards. It looks good on paper (2900XT come to mind?), but how good do you think they will perform? With the 9600GT prices dropping as low as the 3850, it is not looking to good for AMD, although they are holding their own. It would be good to see some real competition at the top of the market.

on the contrary AMD is making a comeback they had great success with the 3*** sereis until nvidia relased the 9600gt but still made good money off of it and the 4*** series looks to be like it can give some sereious competition (like always) anyways the 4*** series is not meant to outperform nvidia as much as you would think (but maybe it will only time can tell) but for power effeciency. And like the article said these cards can look to be great overclockers. I myself personally am going to upgrade my 256mb 3850 to the 4870 then later ill add a 3870x2 for some nice crossfireX :) And im pretty sure the 4*** series cards will outperform the 9600gt with ease but nvidia like always will relase new cards only weeks later to take the crown (my thoughts)...or not :P

But all in all these cards are really catching my attention and the specs looks pretty good there really going all out with stuff never before on there past cards or nvidia cards

ps. im liking GDDR5 :D

I think I'm going to get the 4850... seeing as it's basically exactly the same as the 4870, just with lower clocks and 512mb of vram.
