Hey guys, i've built my rig with two 4850s in Crossfire.

Now, i'm running a Q6600 2.4GHZ Core 2 duo quad core processer

4gigs of ram

32bit vista home premium

and it's as if the second 4850 isn't being detected on games like , crysis.

Does crysis support Crossfire? Because im getting the performance of a single 4850.

BTW, Will my CPU bottleneck? thanks.

Did you connect the 2 cards with a Crossfire bridge ?

Did you enable Crossfire in Catalyst Control Center ?

The profile name in CCC is whatever you decide, it doesn't have to be Bretware.

Crysis doesn't play nice with Crossfire. You might see a frame or two extra, but Crysis does not work with Crossfire properly.

Just make a profile in CCC and save it. After you do that, you can edit the xml file. The xml file will have the same name as the profile you created in CCC.

Where are the profiles saved to, in default? they aren't in the users directory.

Do a search for the file. If you named the profile xid32, search for "xid32.xml".

You can edit that file with Notepad.

I have 4850 in CF too

I don't see any advantages of playing in crysis, but it is a bit smoother I think

Btw to get 4850 real performance you need to get your CPU to 3.6GHz or above, which most Q6600 nowadays seem can't do that

15 to 40 fps differences!

That is not true...run the CPU at 3.6Ghz. You get more performance, but you would get more too if you overclocked to 4.0Ghz. Anything E6600/Q6600 on up is perfect for bottlenecks. Yes he will get more performance out of the overclock, but hes not bottlenecked. If he was rocking a E6420 then he would want to overclock to stabilize the system. The sweet spot that you talk about....that would be around 3.0Ghz-3.2ghz.

There's a tweak in Crysis that does optimize Crossfire.

I think it was...

*_multigpu

The * indicates some letter/word I forgot...
