I'm building a new system and wondering if I should get a 4850 or 4870? I'm going to be using an intel e8400 processor and 4 gigs of 800mhz ram. Is the 4870 worth getting if my monitor has a somewhat low res, which is 1440 x 900?

Is the 4870 any big improvment over the 4850 at a 1440 x 900 res?

Umm, pretty much anything. I plan on playing Crysis, and any game with graphics like that.

at the moment there's not many games out that will show a big improvement with a 4870 at 14x9. If you plan on upgrading your monitor in the future then go for a 4870. Otherwise get a 4850.
