Both can now be bought for roughly the same price. The X2 offers better benchmarks. Is there any reason why to go for the 5850?

the hd 5850 uses less power, is dx11 compatible, eye finity (if you should have a desire to use such a fetaure) and finally its FAR more readily available as opposed to the hd 4870x2.

thatd be about it

oh it also scales better in crossfire if im not mistaken

Thats what im loving about the 5000 series coming out. The higher end 4000's are dirt cheap now. Just bought a 4870 for about $75 US :P

All CF/SLI setups have a chance of having that, and even some single GPU cards could cause some lock up stuttering so you shouldnt base a decision on that.
