[QUOTE="b0ssy"][QUOTE="shanelevy"] [QUOTE="b0ssy"]where did u get the demo from?dmn_fox
He didn't get the demo...reading comprehension FTW.
beta/demo basically same thing in my books so i just use whichever word
where did he get the "beta" from then
i hope u dont mind me correcting u but beta and demo are complete different things......a beta is run by the game devs in order for the participants to give the devs a feedback. feedback on the glitches, optimization and hell loads of other things. some of them are closed beta and some of them are open...i believe the crysis beta was a closed one so very few ppl knew abt it and whoever did, were the first ones to get holds of the serial keys, which from what i have heard were all given out in less than 40 hours. the client is still available to get frm various sites but u need the serial key to actually play it. on the other hand a a demo is released b4 the game to showcase the game to all ppl around the world so tht they know what to expect frm the game...by this time the game has gone through a lot of fixing. but it doesnt mean this is EXACTLY what ur goona get frm the full game coz even though the there arent any active beta participants....there are the devs whowill still try to do ther best to fix up the smallest possible glitch there is. i hope u knw the difference between a beta and a demo now.
EDIT: as far as this thread goes...from my personal understanding of the game.....a q6600 will be better than any duo core out there, but u have a e6600 which is the best duo core out there.....from what i am guessing if u upgrade from e6600 to a q6600 u will have a gain of 7-10 fps which in my opinion could be really good coz u want to play on vista. but if u were on xp then i would not recommend it coz the game will have higher fps compared to vista given tht the pc is same. so if u were getting 35 fps on vista then on xp with the same settings u would expect to get around 40-45 fps.
The e6600 is far from the "best" dual core processor out there; it's just the most economical.
If you were to sell your e6600 and buy a q6600 for ~$350, I think that would give you the best cost to performance increase.
