While the Quake Wars jab is a bit of low blow, you are completely right about Halo. No self respecting PC gamer would consider Halo among the best there is in PC shooters. I can sort of understand if you are a PC gamer without an Xbox and you want to kind of shimmy your way into the in-crowd of Xbox and Xbox Live, but then again you need to be b****slapped back to consciousness because Xbox Live and it's community is retarded.

Having a gaming PC and playing Halo on it is like having a really hot girlfriend but refusing to have sex with her because you prefer to masturbate to a Sears catalog.

But, no, seriously. He's right. Halo is awesome...for a console game. It doesn't belong in the same catagory as Unreal, Tribes, CounterStrike, Day of Defeat, ect ect. Oh, and the peopleon Xbox Live are braindead. Microsoft couldn't pay me to deal with those annoying ass pirates.

Best Online Shooters IMO:

1. Team Fortress 2 - Whoever said it looks "dumb" because it looks cartoony is a moron. It looks like a very violent, very stylistic Pixar movie - which is a nice change of pace from the gritty realism that most other games attempt to pull off (not that gritty realism is a bad thing). Eitherway, this is the most fun I've had onlinesince I first started playing Counter-Strike 1.1
2. Counter-Strike: Source/1.6 - Very hard to get into for newbies, but once you get good, it's extremely difficult to put down. Source has some nice graphics, but 1.6 is just cla-ssic.
3. Battlefield 2/2042 - Fun and massive. I prefer 2042 for the futuristic setting and vehicles. Ship to ship combat is fun too.
4. Tribes 1/2- As far as I can remember, this is the game that put massive online team-based combat on the map. Still one of my favorites, despite how much I utterly suck at it.
5. Unreal Tournement - Very nicely done, fun game. Too fast paced for me, which is wierd cause TF2 is pretty fast paced as well, and I kick-ass at that game.

Honorable Mention: America's Army - You can't be a free game! It's actually really fun, though it may be lacking compared to some newer, more cutting edge games.

I don't realy like halo either. I think it's ok but i don't like the point that your running in circles with another person shooting untill one dies. What I'm trying to say is i don't think it's very tactical.

The Battlefronts are great games, they are more suited to consoles, but they are still great. The reason they didn't pop up here is because when a PC gamer thinks of their Top 5 Best Online PC Shooters there isn't much room in there for multiplatform games after they've already listed the obvious ones like Unreal, Quake, Counter-Strike, Tribes, ect.
