[QUOTE="Spybot_9"][QUOTE="sSubZerOo"][QUOTE="KisukexD"] [QUOTE="sSubZerOo"]Correct me if I am wrong, but does the 9800 GTX outperform the 8800 GTX and is $100 cheaper?sSubZerOo
the 8800GTX is a good card of high resolution, and the 9800 gtx is almost the same as 8800 GTS G92
http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/evga_geforce_9800_gtx/page_3.shtml the 9800 GTX outdoes the GTX in nearly every test EVEN at high resolution.. Apparentely its bit more then the 8800 GTS G92
You do know that the G92 GTS also occasionaly beats the GTX is overall very close to it.And as for the link you provided, the 9800 does not win in every test and the 9800 is like what 1-4 FPS faster.
Now move on to 25x16 and notice what happens in 2 particular games. In dark messiah the 8800 GTX is giving 60FPS and the 9800 is giving 27FPS!
Then in oblivion the 8800 GTX is giving 30FPS and the 9800 is giving 7FPS!
Now ofcourse the TC wont be playing in 25x16 but what this shows is that the 8800GTX just has more "lasting muscle" then the 9800GTX.Period.
Your choice should be between 8800GTS and 8800GTX.8800GTS is quite powerful even for this res but since you have the money I highly suggest you to buy 8800GTX as it's extra muscle will prove worth it for you in different occasions and future games.
My point being is the 9800 GTX is $100 CHEAPER then the 8800 GTX.. and I never said it beat GTX in every test.. But it beats them in the majority.. And I would think you would understand that both Oblivion and Dark Messiah are bugs.. They are much older games, you have to think there is something wrong with drivers right there.
I have seen the 8800GTX going for $300 after MIR.And no it's not a driver issue, the 9800GTX has just run out of VRAM.
