Why would I upgrade when icould get a 360 for the same priceto play games in intended settings by the devs vs mediocre? I can already do everything else i want on my pc, just not super nice looking games.

I'm spending 60$ without "tax" and I'm already running it with everything maxed out set on "high". So we clearly have a problem here.

my goodness that appears to cost the same as a console after tax (before OS but i digress). and as for tech wizz comment. dude really if you bothered to look into it at all it takes about the same motor skills as assembling a lego set and putting a screw in a wall and requires the technelogical know how of a 15 year old lol.

Let me understand...you're criticizing SC2 because you are only able to play it on low because your computer is crap and can't run it decently (despite it being one of the most optimized games on the market), and then when prompted to upgrade you say "why would I upgrade when I can get a console instead"?

My backup computer of a p4 2.8 ghz hyper thread, 9600 gso, 2 gigs of ram, XP ran sc2 beta VERY nice at medium. Yours is a little lower then but if you can find a good PC recycling location, you could most likely get more ram and possible a new old vid card for extremely cheap. Thats what I did.

Alot of cities have a recycling council and rarely anyone knows about them. Here is my cities, CACRC Capital Area Corporation. People like this are golden for the PC community for upgrading old systems for literally pennies. I got 2 512mb sticks of ram for 5 dollars each from them for my old system. Got the 9600 gso for 30 dollars from them as well. Might be able to find a place like that around you and upgrade a small bit.

With the PC I have I don't think I will run into any problems running Starcraft 2 :-

4 x 3.6ghz Q6600 (overclocked)

4096mbs RAM and 896mbs Video RAM

GTX260 (216 CUDA cores)

As for the price I never pay full price for games, I will simply wait for the price to go down as it usually does.

and that 512mb RAM is shared between the system memory, and video memory.

I see many people on here (years ago) with just a regular phenom at 2.8 ghz that will outperform the 360's cpu.

The 360 is a fun machine, so is Ps3, but don't be fooled by marketing/advertising that is the art of manipulating the mind 7jack.
