Hello, im about to install Win7 on a friends PC but im not sure what version the 64 bit or 32bit.

Im just not sure how that works i know 64bit is better, but is there some hardware component that tells me if i can use 64bit?

Not point of not installing 64 bits now,unless it's some older cpu that do not support it.

You can also have much more RAM with 64-bit something like 16 EB that's something like Exabyte,whereas with 32-bit only 4 GB,but I think Windows will still just use 3.25 GB (if you have the 32-bit version.)

Is it a fresh install? If you are upgrading from Vista you need to know what version. You can't upgrade 32 bit Vista to 64 bit Windows 7.

Is it a fresh install? If you are upgrading from Vista you need to know what version. You can't upgrade 32 bit Vista to 64 bit Windows 7.

ya its fresh but the PC works right now so ill check what it currently has its pretty old so if it has 32 right now ill just install that.

If he has an athlon 64 or newer or a core2 or newer it will support 64 bit.
