My notebook has a AMD Turion 64 X2 (1.6GHz) CPU, which I'm guessing is 64bit. I am running Windows XP Home Edition 32bit. Would I get better performence with a 64-bit operating system?

What about Windows XP Professional x64 Edition? Would I see much of a improvement over XP Home Edition? peanut_Breath
I would go with Vista. Windows XP x64-bit Edition was slow and buggy, even on a good system. I always had a lot of problems with it and the drivers never really matured. If you're hell-bent on getting a 64-bit operating system, I would go with Vista, full aware of the outcry such a recommendation would bring on these forums. Like it or not, Windows Vista is going to be entirely necessary moving forward and will for sure have better drivers than Windows XP x64-bit Edition. Basically, the lesser of two evils; In the 64-bit realm, I'd take Vista over XP.
