I planning on getting a 680i motherboard I was going to get a EVGA but I keep hearing people having problems with them and having to return them I don't want to buy a Striker Extreme because they cost to much. I was looking at the BFG 680i it looks like the EVGA motherboard but cost more can any one recommend a 680i motherboard as there are so many to chose from I want one that has good reviews. adam0926
The new one is..
PCB 180-7R093-0000-D00
The old one was..
PCB 180-7R093-0000-C00tacularOne
so your saying the EVGA is the best 680i motherboard as long as I update the BIOS adam0926
As far as chipsets go, the 680i is the best for Overclocking :)Cyborg-21
I have a question, since I have my quad core processor and need to eventually get it exchanged when I can. How will that affect my vista home premium already installed on my computer/ drivers that I updated for my graphics card and stuff. Am I going to need to like re-install it all so that it recognizes it or no. Also, with the new a1 boards will they come with the newest bios update so that I don't need to flash it and upgrade to I think it's like (xx5) or something with a 5 for the latest one.MercenaryKnightbump
what do you think of this motherboard its a bit cheaper then the other 680i boards but its Asus p5TN http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=550174adam0926This one of the latest Asus boards. I haven't even got to testing it yet, but from what I have heard for early adopters... its basically a Striker Extreme stripped with alot of stuff.

That board is for workstation users, as you can see from the PCI-X slot.
i don't really think people should just reel away from the evga just from the onset that they hear a lot of problems on it. i know evga and nvidia is working their butts off to fix the bugs, they've continually been putting out bios updates to fix problems, the sata problem is gone for me at least, the board is a good overclocker with nice features, and the fact that is has life-time warranty is nothing to sneeze at. jfelisarioI am willing to agree with you, for now. I am one of those unfortunate souls who are having problems with the 680i. But I am using the computer right now, waiting for them to send me a replacement board, THEN I will send them this defective one. While I hate having problems, at least this company is willing to do WAY more than ASUS ever attempted to do for me. I have been around long enough to know that just because it sounds good, don't mean it is.
