I have sort of a weird issue. Whenever I type in 'arp /a' in the cmd prompt. I get 7 physical addresses, and I know that really isn't normal. Do any of you know what might be going on? It's given me issues with my university's network.
Are you connected to a router? If so, login to that and check to see who's connected, it's the easiest way. Any MAC addresses you don't recognize, then boot 'em and then tighten up your security on the router. Some routers have MAC filtering where you can specify MAC addresses that can connect. If the MAC doesn't match, no connection is possible even if the password is cracked.
Also check for updates on your software and do a malware scan. Might want to rebuild your TCP/IP stack as well (could be corrupted): netsh int ip reset c:\whatevername.txt at the cmd prompt.
If the problem is on the univ. level though, your university servers' etc. could be the problem. Their infrastructure setup would have to be very fubar for your pc to mess up the university's inet, I'm guessing.
[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]arp /a lists the pcs on your network. Take a pic.Ghosty1212
LOL don't take a pic, but it just lists all of the PCs on your network (as stated before)don't worry too much about it, but don't take a pic lol
Why not? It's just his internal ip adresses... only important thing is his mac adresses which he can blurt out if it really matters. I mean we don't even know his external ip address.
