Do you have a monitor, operating system, kb/mouse, printer and all those other peripherals? Its difficult to build a decent computer if you don't have at least these things. Also if you have an older HDD hold on to it for a while longer until prices of hard drives go back down to their normal levels.

of course not, haven't you noticed the prices have been inflated almost 100% in all cases? A 1 TB hdd could be found for $45 a few months back and now it costs around $120. , Because of the flood in thailand that wiped out production, the supply is very tight or so were told.

well i never looked at the prices for hard drives before i assumed this was the norm, but thanks for clearing that upyea it's pretty insane that all the HDDS are made in that one region. Sucks about the tragedy as well. yes i have an OS and all the other miscellaneous items thanks to everyone :)Decko5
indeed, they shouldve had another factory at another location somewhere in china to ramp up production if something like this were to happen.
