72C for a cpu temperature normal???:O

My t9300 from my xps m1530 laptop just got up to 75C!! is this normal? its ~45 at idle,,, at gaming 70+

That's really... worrying. Have you tried reseating it with new TIM? Constant exposure to that kind of heat will leave it nice and crispy eventually...

Thats a bit high for a CPU. General rule is 60C. It;s Manufacturing Tech: is 45 nm so its ok going that high but I wouldn't run it that high.

Hey, 72C is higher than it should be, however, notebooks often have a heat problem because they have a limited space for cooling. There should be nothing to worry about just let it cool off every couple of hours.

i dont think its an issue myself my amd laptop easily reaches 70C in games and idle its usually around 50-60C. hell my laptop has sometimes reaced 80-85C(during the summer) and its running strong.
