I know its a blend of RTS and Action RPG, you guys think its worth the $7.50?

There's a demo out for it, that's as far as I got with it. Didn't seem very interesting and the less then spectacular reviews made me shy away from buying it. Try it out for yourself, but personally I wouldn't when there are far better games to be played. MadCat46
My understanding is that the demo does not do the game justice, at least from the reviews I've read.
That could very well be the case, it wouldn't be the first time a demo has failed to do a game justice. Still, between the poor demo and the inconsistent reviews I shied away from it. If you do pick it up let me know how it is, it always seemed like a game I might enjoy if it was done well. MadCat46
I will, there's a possibility I may hold off for the inevitable price drop later this year on Steam
I bought and played the hard copy version. It's quite a unique game, a mix Dungeon Siege and Warcraft III. I say it's about as close as a 50/50 RTS/RPG blend as you can possibly get. Unfortunately, it also means that both ARPG and RTS elements of this game had to be simplified, and so they both suffer as a result. The campaign is also kinda bland and full of bad dialogue translations (Phenomic is a German developer). It's not bad, really, but it also could have been much more in the right hands. Phenomic (now part of EA) was a very brave developer to try a game like this, but courage alone can't make a truly great game.madrocketeer
Basically, a Jack of 2 trades, master of neither.....not necessarily a bad thing though
I actually enjoyed Spellforce 2. It was much better than the first one. Because it combines RPG with RTS it is pretty basic. But I found it fun. Prob because I enjoyed Titan Quest. And this felt similar but with RTS thrown in. It's definitely NOT the best RTS by any means.
Give me Supreme Commander 2 for that. :)
For the price, there's a lot of gameplay. Wasn't the best story, but that's because lately I've been spoilt by Bioware's stories.
i remember playing a spellforce game a while back, and i remember not liking it. though it might be because i'm very picky about my RTSesKh1ndjalTo be fair Spellforce really isn't a traditional RTS game. I can't speak for the first one, but Spellforce 2 is more of an RPG than an RTS.
Like I said, it's actually not too bad. The mixture of the RTS and ARPG components are actually quite competent, just not amazing.Basically, a Jack of 2 trades, master of neither.....not necessarily a bad thing though

Personally, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
I did not play it all the way through, but the blend of RTS and isometric RPG is really good imo. I had a lot of fun with it.
compared to most recent console ports or multiplatformers, Spellforce games are decent enough that I'd pay for full price.
