Alright, I am coming once agin for your guys's help. A friend of mine wants me to help him build a nice new computer that will run games for now and future. He is on a 750 dollar budget, and wants vista, and a Duel Core processor and hopes for DX10. HE is not very computer geeky and I don't want to worry about overclocking it or anything like that. Can you guys send a few links to newegg. I'm thinking an AMD Windsor since he's a budget, what do you think?

750 is not enough money to make a computer that will run Vista well... If he will only spend $750, better for him to get XP.

$750 dollars is nothing. He wants to be able to play games well for the future? He has to invest a little more for the future. Sorry, but that's how it is nowadays. You get what you pay for, and a sub-$1000 PC will be just that: sub-standard.

Case $40

HD $60

Monitor $180

Motherboard $75

GPU $150

PSU $50

RAM $60

CPU $90

Vista Home Premium $110( This is the 64 bit only one i found on the egg but im sure you would rather go with 32 bit)

So all this is about $850 its about $100 over budget but hopefully your friend has a monitor, then you would reduce the price by 180. or he can try to come up with the extra 100 bux:D Now to be honest im not really sure how this system wil perform but im pretty sure you would be able to play games with some decent settings. Now im probably gonna get ripped apart by some of the more advanced builders but im trying:D Hope this info at least gives you an idea of what to go for.

well your only option if you must have DX10 is an 8600 GTS/GT. The GT is VERY overclockable btw.

To be honest though, the games that will look better in vista are going to be VERY hardware intensive. Do your friend a favor and explain that without getting a high end card, he won't even be able to use the DX10 effects in games where they matter like crysis.

Personally, I'd expand his budget to include at least a 2900 pro and an athlon x2 5600+ or better cpu.
