7600gt performance with TF2

Hey All

I have recently reformated my computer, and have bought the 7600gt. I was using a 5950 ultra before and i dnt see a dramatic increase in fps in css or tf2.... What frames should i be seeing in tf2 and css? Hopefully not 15-40max... mostly 28fps is wat i see in both games, and in firefights in tf2 its unplayable... I am running an older machine p43.06ht, 1.5gig of ram, and 400watt powersupply. I shoudl be getting at least 60fps in these games... shouldn't i?

Im running in 1280x1024.... i shouldn't think that is a factor, or is is? The source engine should be a piece of cake for this card..

I have read people's thoughts on the 7600gt and it seems like a decent card for this game... any thought?

My proc is a 3.06 hyper threading, it ran awsome with my 5950 ultra, i'm almost thinking i should go back to that.... which is sad really....Kokain81

Just tried it, Turned off hdr, antilise, and still nothing... you think the card is faulty?Kokain81

i have a amd 3200+ (probably similar to your processor), a gig of ram, and a 6600gt (a significantly worse card) and i run smoothly on 1024*768 settings at mid-high although i turn off AA

Do you have updated drivers for EVERYTHING?

Hmmm i actually dont, the only think i have updated is ummm my gfx card, and windows to servie pack 1.... I should update my motherboard, shouldnt i? anything else i need to update?Kokain81

Get service pack two and try running the windows driver thingy.
