I recently played the tutorial demo for CnC 3 with this 8500gt video card. I play this in 10*7 res in medium settings and I get below 30fps.... OMG I think I made a dumb choice... This card does suck..
Tbh CNC 3 in general is complete crap, seriously that game is like crap in a box. It's the most brain dead RTS game ever made and the games balance is the biggest joke in RTS history, not to mention all the exploits. The games online community has shrunk rapidly since it came out.

who's fault is it that you have 8500 GT? yours, dude... you should find out more about graphics (or craphics in this case) cards before rushing out to buy one. newer is not always better.
Sorry about rubbing the salt in the wound but my X800GTO and P4 @2.4Ghz can play CnC3 on med-high settings at 1280x1024 with decent fps...next time read up a bit about gpus BEFORE purchasing.
