no. no chance of it. the graphics card is killing you. get something more powerful, if you've got the cash, 8800GT. Although, i can play the demo at mid on a GTS at 1024x768, so possibly.......

I know from first-hand experience (I have one), that my XFX 8600 GT XXX will run Crysis at 1280 x 960 all settings high except shaders and shadows at medium. The game runs very smoothly at 40-50 in outdoor enviroments, and in intense firefights it drops to 20-30 fps. Because of the blurring effect, you barely notice it because of the action going on. If I were you, I would buy the 8600. I agree with this. I also have an 8600 gt and I was very surprised by its performance in Crysis.
you never know. I've seen games that run better on 6 series cards than they do on 7 or 8, for no apparent reason. They should run better on the higher cards, they just seem to run better on lower power cards. An example of this is fable.
