Right now all I need on my computer is a new graphics card and let's not say I'm not on a tight budget but I want to play games with what is necessary not aiming for very high detail levels while maintaining a nice performance on a craptacular monitor. So I really don't want to buy something that's not really worth it if I'm not aiming for super high details, which leaves me with a mid range card called the 8600 GT, so is this card still able to play most games nowadays at a nice frame rate? or is there another card that can suit my needs? Please educate me on this, I'm not completely clueless regarding Pc gaming but I still need help.

Under $100 and it should do the trick.

Yeah...if your not going for the highest setting and resolution then a 8600 will be fine...make sure you get the DDR3 one though

Check out the 8600 GTS, usually they are only a little cheaper, and a lot better.

Then the 8600GT? They're more money for little gain...

If you must get 8600GT though, get the MSI OC Edition for $90,that would probably be my first choice if i wanted another sub-$100 card, just to see how it stacks up against my HD 2600XT 8)

Don't bother getting a 8600 gts, because you can easily overclock a gt to perform on par with a gts.

for a low buget card its great, but the hd3850 is much much better value as is the 9600gt/8800gt. the 8600gt will run every game on high except crysis can manage crysis around med settings
