I currently have a 8800gts and I just bought an ati 5850 on newegg. I was going to use my 8800gts as a physx card, but idk if my case/psu will be able to take the power and heat. Out of the goodness of my heart, I am trading my 8800gts to my friend for his 8600gt. Will the 8600gt be good enough for physx? (I know it takes some special driver tweaks or something for an ATI main card) If it can't handle it, I could also put the 8600gt in my old pc with an Athlon 64 3500+ and have a decent low end pc to play older games on, maybe some lan on BF2 sometimes.

As long as your mobo supports it, I don't see why not. The 8600GT is a DX10 card after all, so it should support physx.

You have to use modified drivers.

Nvidia's drivers do not allow their GPUs to be used in tandem with ATI GPUs now.
