I have a 7600gt and im wondering if I should upgradde to the 8600gts. I can run most games on max right now like oblivion and things but would the 8600gts be a very big improvement and how do you think it would run in dx10 games like conan and crysis?I know the dx10 would mostly be speculation but I want to know what you guys think.leoploradon01It would be apretty big difference.
[QUOTE="K_r_a_u_s_e_r"]And therefore you should get an 8800 GTS 320 for a little more.9mmSpliff
yep, its true...$240 for a PNY 320mb 8800gts.Â
From where? The one deal I saw like that I'm pretty sure expired...
What you should do for VIsta is buy it and partition your HDD to have both XP and Vista. I personally would do the jump from 8600 to 8800. Its around $50-$100 more and thats just a bit of saving.
To staryoshi, that isnt the only place with that deal. SoberWarlock showed me a couple of places with the PNY for $225 and $255. If you want BFG, eVGA, XFX, Gainward, etc yes you will have to spend around $100 more.
Link it up, spiff! :) Cause I'm not seeing anything less than 270 out there. (After mail-in rebates)
Im pretty sure it is 80 dollars more. In case you havent heard, 80 American dollars is a lot of money353535355353535
$80 is $80 man. Dont matter if thats USD, CDN or AUS. You have to save $80, I have to save $90cdn. So it doesnt matter. Its called working a little harder/more and getting the better card that rolls up the 8600gts and smokes it. I would save up and go for the better card.

I have to get it from Sober Warlock. I didnt bookmark them and plus Im at work today. And even if its $70... I mena come on..$70 is totally worth it, cause the 8600gts gets its butt handed to it from the 8800gts.

Don't get me wrong, the 8800 series pwns noobs (I've got a 640MB 8800GTS myself), but the 8600GTS is a bit cheaper, and more importantly it's smaller, cooler, and less power consuming. One marvels at its potential for OC'ing too.... it takes me 2 days to make 70 bucks, though, so it is important to some people (Only working part-time btw, I'm not unskilled labor :))
