i just put a 8800gts in my computer i also put in a 500w power supplie to power the card and for some reason i am getting the blue screen of death for like 2 seconds and then my comp will shut off. This has been mainly occuring in WoW. Then it happened again but this time my computer just went to a black screen with a blinking under toe. I had to restart my computer several times before it started working. Can anyone help me? Is it time for a new pc?

make sure that all the power supply cables are plugged in correctly. Try posting this message at the PC hardware section of the forums instead of the gaming section. congrats on your new 8800.

The 8800 series is very new, it could even be a fault with the new driver or perhaps even the card itself. But it depends on the reason for the blue screen. Ever bothered to read the error and the file that caused it? could be very hepful for us folks trying to help lol. The following black screen however does sound like a power shortage refering back to what pharomarc said.

Moved to PC Hardware....

I would check that the card is fully seated and that you have power from the PSU going to the card iteself if required.
