Well , I'm looking to get one more card. I was going to SLI my two GTS's but decided against the hassle of it all.

Anyway , would a HD 3870 X2 be a noticable difference in gaming compared to my XFX 8800GTS XXX 512mb?

I have two of these cards now but one I can still get a refund on so the price difference would only be about $150. If I where to SLI them the price would be about $300 more (MOBO , ect..)

So now I'm just going to overhaul my 4th rig and trying to decide on what card to use.

Im not shure. I do know that it sometimes performs better than an 8800Ultra.

They should give generally the same performance give or take a few frames on certain applications. However, I'm prettur sure you'll be using less power the the 3870 X2.

The thing is that the games have to support Crossfire to fully use the 3780x2's if not then a 8800GT/GTS/GTX will beat a 3870x2. Like in crysis a 8800gts 512 beats a 3870x2 but in most games that do support crossfire the 3870x2 wins but. Two 8800GTS in sli cream a single 3870x2. so no worries.

Ya umm thats like saying a 8800GTS 512 creams a 3870 it's true, but put it in context...teh 8800GTS is much more expense and two 8800GTS's are much more expensive then a 3870x2

Only if you game at high resolutions (e.g. 1920x1200+) with settings maxed.
