Having some major tech issues with my Gefore 8800 GTS.

A few days ago I started seeing some crazy graphic hicups inside VIsta. Then I got a quick error message that would come and go saying the driver had failed. It would crash to a blue screen that said to check any newly installed hardware. It came and went so fast I couldn't really read it. After that the system would reset. This happened a few times in a row and now windows boots up in 800 x 600 only.

Currently under device manager it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" on my GTS.

I have tried installing the latest drivers from nvidia. They install but nothing changes. I have also done a system restore back to well before the problems started but this didn't help either.

I've checked the card it self, made sure it's seated well. It's fan is running as normal and it dosen't seem hot.

I didn't change anything at all before the problem no new programs or anything of the sort and everything has been running fine for over a year now so it's really baffling to me.

Anyone have an idea of what to do next?

Thanks!

sounds like an overheat to me, happened to me when i first installed my 8800GTS. download rivatuner and turn your fan speed to a minimum of 36% duty cycle, higher is recomended for cooler case temps but the noise is a bit much

Any idea why that would be the case when it's been running fine for over a year?
