Ya i think it's low in supply.You can get 9600GT which is more powerful and slightly more expensive.
actually i think that 9600 didnt hit the market in our country yet.. anyways i was looking for a 3850 also.. its gr8 card for that resolution.. but here its like $260.. but anyways is there any chance of falling the price after this month? i really waited long after my 7600.. now i need a gfx

I would try to wait till you can get you're hands on a 9600 or you might regret buying that 880GS
oh i was also thinking about that but here gfx costs double price.. 8800gt costs about $400 here :-) its hard for me to put out $400.. i can max put out $230 becoz i m also planning for another 1gb ram and a good psu.. and i will be satisfied if i can play crysis in high med settings and other games in high settings in 1280 res in 24fps :-) tat would be enough for me.so if 3850 falls in price a lil bit then i would go with it

If the 3850 is 512MB than get it if it's in your range but DONT get the 256MB one and get 8800GS over that.

and yeah i m talking abt the 512mb 3850..still not in my range but hope the price will drop soon after this month..so i can get that for $230 :-)
i have a 17 inch monitor..now i play games in 1024 res... but some games like crysis it lags
also i was looking at the 8600gts but it didnt attract me much.. my friend bought the 8600gts just one day ago.. he has a 15inch monitor.. so he play in 1024 res.. in that res he is doing gr8 with that 8600gts..btw one question he asked me. how far he can overclock the 8600gts(in stock now) xfx card.. he got a 360waatt psy
