well i bought a new computer a while back and i wanted to play games like tf2, left for dead, css, and the orange box. the bad thing is that my computer has a crappy intergrated graphics card. so im thinking of buying this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130318 and for power supply this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817339002 is the graphics enough to run left for dead on high? oh and im wondering if that graphics card will fit in my system i have a dell inspiron 530 with intel core 2 duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20 GHz

download cpu z to find out what graphics card slot you have.

i dont think that card will max left 4 dead, im not sure, but it will handle the other games perfectly.

dont know about the power supply, but i havent heard of that brand....

first of all that PSU wont even go into your DELL, they use BTX. Second the card wont fit inside your machine as its too long, you'll need a low profile card something like a 8600GT or 2600XT or even better would be a HD3650.

I can run all source games on max settings with my single 8600GT, 2 gigs of RAM and a decent processor. An 8800GT will get the job done with no problems at all.

The 8800GT is an insanely long card. But trust me, on source, my 8600GT was a champ. It will for sure max out Left 4 dead.

Is this what your PC looks like? http://www.trustedreviews.com/pcs/review/2007/09/11/Dell-Inspiron-530/p2

If so, Yoyo has a point because this is not even the samller S version. You dont have space for new PSU or graphics card which unfortunately means no upgrades unless you want to change your entire system.

You need GPU-Z, not CPU-Z to find out what slot your graphics card uses. But anyway, there is no way in hell that you will be able to use an 8800GT in a Dell. Not only is the case too small, but the PSU doesn't have nearly enough power and probably doesn't even have a PCIE power connector.

Hmmm.. looking again at that picture it looks as though the graphics card extends under the hard drive, so there might be space and the lower picture seems to look like a normal sized PSU, so again it might fit.

Ok, a suggestion. If you are comfortable opening up the side panel of your PC, measure the length of your current Graphics card and then imagine it was 10 inches in length (the Gfx card). Can you see it hitting anything. 8800gt, 4850, 4870, 9800gt/gtx. They are all about 10 inches in length. Could your case accomodate a card of such length.

You're power supply is a bit Overkill unless you are running 2 8800Gt graphics cards at once. My friend has the same card and is overclocking with a 300W Power Supply no problem lol.

I would recommend this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817339012

You will save a bunch of money if its compatible.

Do NOT skimp out on your PSU. 585 watts for 20 bucks doesn't scream quality to me. Go with a trusted brand name like Corsair.

Got it, price equals quality....LOL! Vista when it came out had bugs and was more expensive than XP, price does not determine quality.

However, 750W is still a bit overkill... I would stick to 400+ probably around 550W-600W

That's a much better PSU. Rosewill makes a quality product that will put out that 500w CONSISTENTLY.

i had to chime in, dell 530 and 531 will take any atx power supply.so you can update that 530 to the hilt my frind and the 8800gts fit also, you should check out the dell forums, people with succes stories and pics to prove it and some good advice for your pc

Get a game/stealth xtreme OCZ 600w powersupply and a eVGA 8800gt and you should be able to get it for under $200.
