K, first off I know this is a stupid question. But I just have to make sure. Here it goes. Can I run my 8800GT in crossfire mode when I obviously know that it is designed for SLI? My mobo is crossfire ready and I'm only wishfully hoping that I misread somewhere that crossfire can apply to any video card?? Sorry for the inconvenience of this question.....

I somehow feel that this is a joke thread....

Anyways;

Crossfire = ATI

SLI = Nvidia

Get it? Crossfire ain't gonna work on a Nvidia card nor SLI is going to work on Crossfire. Currently, the only correct way of running SLI is through an Nvidia chipset board. Crossfire can be done on an AMD chipset board and any of Intel's recent chipsets(X38/P35).

Ya know, had thought about it. May reconsider that if I ever have any latency with gaming on just one card. So far I havn't had to OC anything and am getting awsome results with just the 8800gt. I've got it on an ASUS P5E3 Deluxe utilizing DDR3 RAM and the Q6600.
