no, this is to be placed between the 8600 and 8800gts, the gts has more stream processors, 96 at the moment, being revised to 112, and the gt i believe is supposed to have 64 (double that of the 8600 with 32).

so i doubt performance will be equal to that of the gts, but for the price they are expecting it to be at i will be a great card for the money.

8800gt is supposed to have 112 sp's i thinkCoolFX

doesnt the gtx only have 120?

so an overclocked 8800 gt 512mb will be almost as powerful as a gtx but at half the price?

Good price, expect the G98 (possible 8800gs) at $150.

hopefully prices like these would lower the 8600 line of cards, give even more competition for ati

I think the revised gts' will be called 8800GTS (v101) or something along the lines with the 101 in it.

The core is G80-101, it should be called something like 8800GTO or GTR maybe.
Who knows...
Only a few more weeks.

Well they came out today and just that fast they are all gone. I was lucky enough to get a great deal from newegg.com and I am getting my Superclocked version within the week. The crazy thing is that they don't list it anymore ... in less than a day they sold out completely and are now not even listing it as out of stock. And now I can't find them anywhere on the net for sale ... they are simply not available now after just going on sale ... that is really wild to me. I got mine for $306 ... which was a little less than what I had paid for my former GTS 320MB which I returned today after 30 days ... I guess I just got lucky. I wish you all the best of luck in getting your 8800 GT ... you simply can no longer just blindly purchase the GTS 640 ... it gets killed by this beast in benchmarks.
