8800gt's in SLI will definitely be better than a GTX.

Suggest you wait till the 9800 GTX to release.. The 8800 GT will most likely lower in price and so will the GTX.

Well forget about the 8 series now if you have a decent amount of budget.

Just wait for real reviews on the 9800GTX,see it's pricing and then make a decision.

9800GTX almost performs 70-80% faster and sometimes even more than 8800GT in 19x12 and since SLI only gains huge amounts in higher res,i think a single GTX will compete well with 8800GT SLI but as i said wait for more reviews.

9800GTX seems such an ideal card in this world of increasing dual GPU based cards.

Where did you get that from? The 9800Gtx (not GX2) is only about marginally faster than the 8800gtx, which was basically an overclocked g92 gts. A gt in sli could provide about the same or even more performance than the 9800gtx. From the 1 review (more like a preview, but whatever) that came out, the differences were only very large at high frame rate counts, where the human eye won't be able to notice. So it would be better to sli the GT now, though it would be a little cheaper when the gtx releases in May

He means there's no use always waiting since new tech will always come out. And only the 9800gtx GX2 and 9600gt come out. The rest haven't yet

Slight detour...an overclocked 8800 gts G92 would be comparable to a GTX but at a much lower price?
