Mine idles at 75 degrees C and at max can go over 100, which will cause it to shutdown after an hour or two of play. it is factory oc'ed at 675/1674/975. These temps do not seem normal.

I know that if you bought it from EVGA, you can download EVGA Precision.

If you have $30, get the arctic cooling accelero s1 rev 2 off newegg. My 8800gt temps before the cooler-60c idle 80c load

After-37c idle, under 50c load

I had a somewhat similar problem (temps went high, but not as high as yours) and I just turned up the fans with Rivatuner, it now idles at 51 C (123 F)

Concurred. My 8800GT idled at close to 60, since stock fan speed was locked at constant 30%. I made a new profile in RivaTuner and set fan speed up to 60%. Now it's under 50 idle and around 70 load.

just download rivatuner and turn up the fan speed to about 80% thats what i had to do when i first installed my 8800gts its drivers crashed after a few minutes of gaming, make sure you tell it to run the settings on windows startup though
