sorry if this is ment to be in the pc games section but i thought it was about hardware aswell so .... anyway when i watch an ea crysis vid the other day they said they had it running on an 8800gtx setup on max settings with some AA enabled so why are people saying that you can run it max setting but no AA and other things disabled ?

THis is the right forum. Hardware discussions get locked in PC Games. But if I had I time macine I would tell you that it would or not we just have to wait because, well, the game is not out yet. The Devs said that a E6600 2gb and 8800 should max the game at decent res's and a 7800GTX(or was it 7900GTX?) Could max in DX9 mode.

Well some of the graphical features in Crysis wont be used for atleast a year after its release. That's because hardware has to technically catch up, however an 8800GTX will be able to run Crysis at max settings compared with todays games (if that makes sense).

The 8800GTX will easily max out Crysis, with full AA and AF at a high resolution.

i have the exact specs as the recommended max settings, but i think ill add a 2gig USB stick for Ready Boost, and maybe upgrade to a Quad Core Q6600 after the price drop.

will Crysis use a Physx Card?

I dont know about that... Not 2560x1600 or w/e with 16x AA lol maybe 1600x1200 with 16x AA MAYBE. This game looks to be a real rig pusher because of all the fancy physics bs and volonumetricaly light and destructible enviroments and asplosions that asplode. Just seems to be a bit ahaid of the tech out right now. Kinda like HL2 when that came out...

The hardware requirements for Ultra settings are supposedly:

E6600 or equivelant

2GB RAM

GeForce 8800 GTS

Specs aren't official yet, but with that graphics card, it will most likely be able to run Crysis on high settings (even with the graphical bells and whistles - but don't expect to run it at top AA and AF settings on a high resolution)

I think that 8800 GTX will run crysis on max settings whit 4xAA and 16xAF at res 16x12 or 16x10 at around 50FPS average.

Even though I'd really like to get me some 8800s, I think I'll be content with my setup.

What the heck are you talking about? What do you mean the graphical features in crysis wont be used for at-least a year? Do you mean like in other games? Or you saying that the current hardware available wont be able to use the features in the game Crysis itself? :|

Wesker776

Nice job from getting the link from the Union wesker :P I was just about to do that but I noticed you already posted it :P Ok so the system specs on that site have been put together by a few fans of crysis, like they did it from what information was given to them from Crytek themselves. But the Ultra settings were given out by Cevat himself (CEO of Crytek) in a preview with some Magazine I guess. So yes the GTX will eat crysis up.Yes a GTX wont be running at2560 by 1600 with max settings on its own, maybe it could at 1920 by 1200 (Maybe), but I bought 2 just in-case :P

Sorry for the double post, but I don't feel like editing my previous post :P No crysis will not use a PhysX card, it will be using Havok Physics which are done on the CPU, thats why the game is so CPU intensive.

Hey, I have an important question about Crysis.

Ok i have a budget 17-inch monitor and I need to get a PC for Crysis and UT3. BTW the important question is since my monitor can only run at like 1152 x 864. I've been dreaming of a 8800GTX but I know that will be useless horsepower. So I figured I need a 8800GTS but the question is 320 or 640 mbs?

BTW I really need eye candy so I want Ultra-High, Some AA/AF, HDR and Soft Shadows. I think 640mbs because of the features I want

First off, I would get a better monitor since I doubt Crysis supports that res, then I would think about getting a good PC :P So yeah if you dont want to go all out on a monitor get a 19" or a 20", then get a GTS 640Mb and your good to go. A GTX isn't really needed unless your gaming at high reses.

You might get a little choppy at that high of a res, but I think you should be fine at 1600 by 1200 with 4AA. (This is an assumption though so I ain't promising anything :P)

Yes, Crysis will definatly take advantage of multi-core cpu's, the higher you can go the better :P
