WHile the AMD processors may not OC as well as intel ones, you can get rid ofthat cpu bottleneck by OC'ing your processor. I have socket 939 with an X2 4200+ and I was able to get it to 2.93GHz on air (I brought it down to 2.61 to be safe.) If you can get your processor to the 2.5-2.6 range you won't need to worry about your processor that much for now.

Do what Baselerd suggested. Attemp to oc first. If you don't find the results to your satisfaction.. Then spend some money.

But you can't put that in your mobo. If you are on socket 939, you need to buy the processor, a new motherboard, and new RAM (Core 2 Duo is DDR2, unlike 939 which uses DDR.) I don't suggest you do this unless you don't mind blowing all that money... because you really can have a pretty nice performing cpu if you OC it. And hey, if u can't succeed in OC'ing, the worst that can happen is that you get the e6750 that you wouldve planned on getting anyway.
