Here are the 9 games that are scheduled for 2007 that look most promising (in my opinion)

-BioShock

This game just looks amazing. The eerie atmophere and the revolutionary (or atleast so it seems) gameplay just can't miss.

-Crysis

Not only are the graphics better than ever, but the nano-suit looks like it will tear up the jungle, literally.

-Call of Duty 4

Everygame in the series so far has been fun, so why should this be any different. Modern Warfare done in Call of Duty setting? Sign me up.

-Mercenaries 2

The 1st game was one of the funnest open ended games in a long time that didn't have to do with gangs or crime. Well... at least not gangs.

-Unreal Tournament 3

It just looks simply amazing. Epic has never failed before, so why should they now? This brings me to the next game:

-Gears of War

If the ranting and raving from 360 players is actually deserved, then PC fans have something to look forward to.

-Assassin's Creed

Any game that is set in a medieval setting, features realistic sword fighting, and has free running sounds great.

-World in Conflict

This RTS just looks too good to be true. The fact that it lets the player focus on strategy instead of economy is very promising.

-Haze

Although the PC release date isn't out yet, the PS3's is in 2007, so it still could come to PC in this year, also. Free Radical made TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, which really gave a comical, time-travelling, fresh campaign in a FPS. The effects of Nectar and stuff look sweet.

So there you have it; the games I look forward to. How about you?

I'm sure you've played it. That's what I thought too but I DLed the beta. It's multiplayer is just as intense as BF2.

Well I wouldn't say its boring just by reading about it or seeing screenshots would I? Its a boring kind of intensity. A disorganized mixed of explosions and rinse and repeat situations.

i agree. civilization 4. just got it, really good. and also, RTS are best on pc without competition. i still play starcraft and warcraft 3 (though so are many many people). but i like my shooter's bets on pc. unless a new wii shooter proves me wrong.

Gears of War isn't that good, man. Save 50 bucks and pass on it. Coming from a 360 owner who owns the game, BTW. I thought the TimeSplitters series was absolutely terrible. Wasn't fun AT ALL to play. So, I think you should take out Haze. We also really haven't seen much on it.

I'm looking forward to UT3 and maybe Crysis. And Halo3 :)

I have prepared myself for Crysis. It is my dream, my baby, and my destiny with my computer. We must have Crysis, we must play Crysis, we must beat Crysis.

Crytek is amazing and I love them so. I was actually playing Far Cry some today. Good times.

Haha QFT.

By the way to people who are saying stuff against the games I put down: Those are just 9 games that I think I would like, I wasn't saying that those are the definite games that are must haves. But yeah if I had to list the absolute must haves for 2007 (again, in my opinion) that I absolutely HAVE to buy they would be in order:

1.Crysis ( this is just a strait up MUST-HAVE!)

2.BioShock (I have been waiting for it since the beginning. Must-have, also)

3.Unreal Tournament 3 (I'm a huge UT2004 fan. This is also a must-have)

4.Assain's Creed (Depends on the review actually since I have been hearing doubts about it. Still looks amazing though. I'll most likely get it regardless of it's reviews, unless it gets in the 6 range or below)

5.Call of Duty 4 (Only maybe. Only if it was REALLY good, because I already have enough shooters as it is, and quite frankly, Crysis just looks much better to me. So this one depends on how good it really is and how my budget is doing at the time of the release)

The other games I put before

-Mercs 2

-GoW

-World in Conflict

-Haze

are mostly just that they would be nice to have / I think they look really cool, but I wouldn't be all too dissapointed if I never got them in the end.

p.s. I saw some games that weren't 2007 releases. Bear in mind people I only listed games I know about that are coming out in the remainder of this year, not all games that are in development at this time...

Um, incase you didnt see my xfire signature, I have about 150 hours into medieval 2: total war. I dont know if that is a lot by your standards, but it definitely is by mine. I like strategy more than FPS a lot, but just at this time really the only promising looking original strategy game that i know of coming out soon is World in Conflict, so thats why it was the only one on my list.

My 9 anticipated games for this year include...

* BioShock - looking good so far
* Medal Of Honour: Airborne - the single player alone looks to have good replayability. Hoping for good MP as well.
* The Witcher - looks to be a good action RPG with some depth.
* Crysis - loved Far Cry and I'm pretty sure this game will be better.
* The Precursors - could be an interesting FPS/RPG hybrid in a large sci-fi universe.
* Clive Barker's Jericho - loved Undying so I hope this squad-based horror game is just as good.
* Elveon - I think this UE3 powered action RPG may be delayed to next year. Looking good though.
* Hard To Be A God - this action RPG has an interesting premise and could deliver a compelling experience.
* Collapse - looks like an interesting third person action game.

There are many other games that interest me as well, including quite a few FPS games, but I thought I'd pick a few other less well known titles for this thread.

Spore, Haze, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Dragon Age won't be released this year on PC.

Haze is a PS3 exclusive in 2007, and Splinter Cell: Conviction was recently delayed by Ubisoft. Warhound (by Techland) has also been pushed into 2008.

I'm getting the feeling that some of the other titles are going to be delayed now. Crysis still has no firm date and they're adopting a 'when it's done' attitude, so that may quietly slip into 2008. Out of my picks I'm thinking The Precursors, Elveon and Collapse may slip into next year as well.

Spore-Perfection.(I'm looking forward to this game so much, waiting since 2005..)

Crysis-The graphics are just beautiful, and the game's gameplay looks good too.

UT3-UT2004 had some crazy action, with unreal 3 engine this game will be even crazier..

Gears of War-I've envied x360 users because of this game, and now it finally makes it's way into the PC.

Call of Duty 4-I played the first and the second, and finally a new twist in this series, finally a modern game, and it looks better than ever.

Assassin's Creed-Yup,parkour and fighting is good.

Team Fortress 2-I like the graphics style so much, and it looks like there's gonna be a lot of action and multiplayer..

Well I gotta disagree.

First of all, HOLY CRAP! you forgot Spore! Then again, it's set for release in 2008.

But my list removes most of the console ports, but not all.

  1. Bioshock
  2. Spore
  3. Halflife2 EP2
  4. Sims 3
  5. Assassin's creed
  6. Crysis
  7. UT3
  8. CoD4

Personally, I think Gears on the PC will fail unless it can play with existing Xbox 360 owners. Why will it fail you ask? Because Halflife's EP2 is coming, Crysis is supposed be NextGenUltraMegaRealistic, UT3 has a devoted fanbase and the other two games were a blast, and COD4 is going modern along with many BF2 players and COD veterans.

THen again, any one of these shooters could fail and one could come out on top. or they could all be successful. We'll have to wait and see.

I found Gears of War multiplayer very fun actually. Playing LAN or online is where it's at. For the people who don't have a 360 I would definately recommend it.

In some kind of order, I guess: 1. The Orange Box 2. Bioshock 3. Blacksite: Area 51 (I can't believe nobody mentioned this one yet!) 4. Unreal Tournament 3 5. Gears of War (maybe) That's pretty much it for my "must plays". I loved Gears of War co-op on the 360, but I doubt I'll find anyone who wants to play it on the PC, so I'll probably pass it up. Everything else on my list looks as though it will offer a great single-player experience, which is what makes it worth my dime, since I'm not all that big on online stuff anymore. And quite frankly, I think Crysis looks pretty lame. And can someone please tell me what the big deal is about Haze? It looks like a average shooter to me. Boring story, shallow characters, generic weapons and enemies, generic locations... Am I missing something here?

There simply are to many good games coming out this year. I only wish we could get GTAIV when the consoles do, after reading the new GS/IGN previews I'm getting really excited about it.

I haven't forgotten about Blacksite: Area 51!!! Coop available, "Massive D" environmental destructibility, easy squad command controls, HUGE bosses, sounds like it could be awesome!

I actually like the OP's original 9 list quite a bit as well, although I'm probably not as excited about Assassin's Creed and World in Conflict, but the others ---- whoaa mama ---- bring 'em on :D :D :D Hopefully this year ends up being as good as it appears it's going to be.

And I have no idea why I'm not very excited about HL2 Ep2 or Orange Box (I loved HL2 though)...

Must have PC games coming out soon...

1.) Crysis - its the sort of game that looks bloody amazing and makes you want to buy it just because it looks so awesome.

2.) Unreal Tournament 3 - Again bring on the "HEADSHOT!!!" announceer, flak cannon pwnage and shock rifle slamming and i'm in heaven.

3.) Assassin's Creed - I'm buying this purely because of Jade Raymond lol, nah she's a big part of why its appealed to me so much. But the fact its set during the Crusades (one of my favourite periods of history) and you get to free run around levels and assassinate people from history is a really cool aspect to the game

4.) Half Life 2 Episode 2 - The fact it continues on the HL2 story is why i'm buying it, i played HL2 and HL2Episode1 and want to continue the story of Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance!

5.) Hellgate London - Looks fantastic, seems to have a very interesting plot which i genuinely want to find out the conclusion to and the cinematic cutscenes looked great in the trailers!
