Is it worth the upgrade to go from 9500gt with 512mb to a gts 250 with 1gb, i had thought about going with a 4870 or 5750 also, but don't want to give up phys x, i am at most a casual gamer, i play freelancer, freespace 2, call of duty 4, and i want to play batman arkham asylum, fear 2, and resident evil 5

yeas a 9500gt to a 250gts is a good upgrade but I think you would be better off with an HD4850 or HD4870

Thats actually what i want, but batman, and a few other games benefit from phys x, and ati/amd doesn't have a physics engine in the 4850 or 4870

I was saying he would be better off with the 4850 because its ~115 dollers and the gts 250 is ~145

meh physix doesnt appeal much to me.. it will burn a hole through some cards though (not literally) in the case of arkham asylum.. ill br frank a gtx 260 on normally tolerable higher resolutions stutters for arkham asylum.

Ive read that it runs fine on most mid range cards, another reason I want the gts 250, is the free 3d glasses that come with the card, seems like it will be pretty cool

Much? 250 would actually be better than 4850, because 9800GTX+ which it succeeds is already faster than 4850 and has Physx and better driver support. 4870 might be a little faster, but that little is very little.

thats stupid, why do you think ppl are buying ati cards? the cpu does the phyisx, either way you'll have higher fps with those ati cards mentioned....

No he won't, so much misinformation. Lack of game support on ATI will make his life hard and bring the performance down to a level of much inferior nvidia cards. Also, Physx is unavailable on ATI no matter what "does" it and even chimps in Africa know that.

The 250 isalittle fasterthan the 4850 in most cases, but the 4870 beats the 250 by alot because of the 4870's much faster GDDR5 memoryand tons more stream prossesors.

I wouldn't worry too much about physx, I have an Nvidia card and have never used it, the best upgrade for you to do would be to get a 4870.
