Since the 4850 isn't even released, we can't compare.

Link to that? I've heard the opposite and it has nice power and temp performance.

I have a 9800 gtx and it rocks, i see a 140 fps average in COD 4. Crysis doesn't like it though, I think my old 8800 gt ran it better.

4850 all the way.

Its good to have AMD fighting back, at least in GPU terms.

We just got the go-ahead from AMD to post overclocking scores on the 4850. We're posting benchmarks right now, stay tuned :)

4850 supports dx10.1 and beats 9800gtx in a lot of benchmarks, especially with 4xAA and 8xAA on. And it consumes less power too. I'd wait a few weeks for a custom cooling solution from ATI's partners. It's a mistake to make such a powerful card single slot, when motherboards have everything integrated. And I'm sure the price will drop quickly to 180 once the initial high demand calms down and stock is high.

Got up to the 7th page and that site went down for me. Must have a lot of traffic.

Not right now, wait till prices drop.

There aren't any games besides crysis that can really use anything more than a 8800gt

Wait a few weeks to see all the reviews, and gather information. Ive heard the 9800GTX is coming down and getting a nice driver.

But imo so far, HD 4850 looks like your best bet. Im personally holding out for a HD 4870.
