For $70 heck ya go for it, The gtx 260 is like 25% faster then a single 9800GTX. But make sure your psu is enough to handle the new card. Needs a 500 watt psu with 38A on 12v rail at least.

If you already have a 9600gt dont bother upgrading to a 9800gt, At higher resolutions the 9800gt is better thou.

Heck at that resolution a 9600gso 768mb would be a nice upgrade. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4659437&CatId=3670

My 8800 GTX isn't giving me any problems on settings (Only on AA). Not many games worth the upgrade, we'll have to wait for some time for the next Elder Scrolls or Crysis.

I checked out the specs on the 9600gt oc edition but i'm a bit concerned about heating, the new cards now are coming with some pretty decent fansinks so i'm wondering if its worth the extra bucks to invest in a card that will probably last longer like the 9800gt http://cgi.ebay.com/MSI-N9800GTX-T2D512-OC-512MB-PCI-Express-Video-Card_W0QQitemZ350213068598QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Video_TV_Cards?hash=item518a535736&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A30

Go for a 4850. You'll be much more pleased with the results. And it'll only set you back around 15 dollars more than opting for a 9800GT.

get get the 4850 instead of the 9800gt etiher way it will be huge upgrade from 9400gt and and HUMONGOUS upgrade from onboard video card. and you can run all virtually all games maxed out at that res with 4xAA a few of the more demanding ones will still work at high settings.

to the main topic, id say go for it, definatly, its allways good to have the best graphics card you can get. Also, 9800GTX = 128 Stream procssors, GTX260 = 192 or 216 depending on the model. Im running a 9800GTX+ now and im happy for it, i just have trouble running Crysis, Oblivion and Fallout 3 at high settings, which is most likely down to my CPU
