Hey, my friend just run his new(used) pc throught one of those Can You Run It websites and it says that his nVidia GeForce 9500GS card has 2.5GB video ram.
Is that possible? ive googled the card and only found 512MB ones.
Now does that realy equal a true 2.5GB videao ram of is it different? By that i mean can i run games like Crysis that require 650+MB? How does that work?
No, you should only factor the actual amount of RAM on your videocard. That "added" stuff doesn't really do anything. I'd love to get technical but you should just google it :D

no shared video memory is when the video card borrows a portion of you system ram and uses it when a card runs out of vram for a game performance will decline as it has to swap stuff from the system ram to the card and this is slow and ineffiecent. and second of all vram is not an indicator of performance the 9500gs is a weak card that will probably manage crysis on low settings dx9 low resolution if u use a custom config like ccc 2.21 it may not be so bad but nothing great.
