im pretty new at this, so pardon my stupidity, but i just have a couple questions. first of all, i basically have my processor, motherboard, video card, cd/dvd burner, case, power supply, memory, and hard drive picked out. not to mention monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse, etc. is there anything else i will be needing? im not sure if there is anything im forgetting.

also i know i need fans, but im not sure to what extent. how many fans will i be needing? i have a dual core 2.20 processor (intel), an nvidia 8600 gts ssc edition (256 mb), and an xfx 680i sli motherboard. 600 watt power supply and 250 gb harddrive. any idea on number of fans i might need?

i think thats about it thanks for the replies. (in advance)

you seem to have covered everything, out of curiosity what kind of video card did you go with and what kind of case?

well i wanted to go with the 8800, but the price jump was a little much since im pretty tight moneywise right now, so i went with the 8600 overclocked edition. (nvidia obviously) and the case was midtower atx ultra alum (i think)

Why don't you link the case so people can determine what fans if any need to be added to it?

Sounds pretty similar to the PC i'm looking at building except am going with the 8800GT or GTS, also just an Idea for you check out ETCcomputers.com (also canadian) and look at the ASUS P5N-D its an Nforce 750i motherboard only a bit more than the XFX 680i and quite a bit better since its supports the new 45nm technology and PCI-e 2.0.

Noooo why are you getting the 8600?! Get the 3850! Or, if you really want to go down the Nvidia route, get the 8800GT 256mb - It's a little more expensive than the 3850. I think...

Well from the pages detailed specs section:

120mm Fan Ports: 2 120mm Fans Included: None

So there's what you'd need.

I understand why you're going with it as it's part of a barebones kit but honsetly, IMHO, don't think much of the case at all.

I'd just buy an Antec 900. That and one extra 120mm fan for the side and you've got a much better, cooler case with 4 120mm fans and a 200mm fan.

And as the previous poster stated. Get the 8800 GT.
