I bought a plantronics gamecom headset recently. It's the best headset I've ever had. Nice big cups cover the ears completely, really comfortable. Very crisp sound and has a mic that tucks into the headset so its never in the way. The mic is really good.
Just ordered a pair of Creative Sound Blaster HS-1100 Arena today alittle bit more expensive but from the reviews i have read i cant wait for them to arrive.
This is the headset that I use. It is the Cyber Snipa Sonar 5.1 and I love it. The mic is great, it is so comfy even for long term play, the 5.1 is so handy for shooters, and the whole thing (power and all the channels) are done through a single USB. Check out some youtube reviews.
Edit: Just noticed, on that site the price is $64, but you can easily find them for around $50-$55
Doesn't matter. Unless you spent $300-400 on it it can't touch an AD700 with a Zalman clip. And that's only $100. Headsets can't beat a good can and mic setup.
Hey I'm looking into buying a new pair of headphones too.
I can't decide between the medusa 5.1s or AD700.
If I go for the AD700 what is the surround sound like? I have a creativeX-FI Gamer sound card. Do I set everything to virtual surround if I use the AD700s?
